Happy New Year!

I love new beginnings, don’t you? Just like morning, its fresh and new and full of possibility.
I’ve been a little inconsistent this past year with my blogs and social media and I wanted to let you know where I’ve been. As many of you know, this past year was a year of trials for us beginning with a house fire Jan.1st, being displaced almost a year, severe pain and disability for me with 8 months of lost work, and finishing up with a move home and a mysterious finger aliment needing surgery! But that is not what I want to focus on. I would never replace what I’ve learned through all of these trials! God is so good and He is so faithful to sustain us and grow our faith (“…which is of greater worth than gold…”) The biggest thing He taught me was from this verse:
“A merry heart does good like medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.” Prov.17:22

I’ll be honest, I was feeling pretty sorry for myself for a bit, really focusing on the pain and stress of lost income when He hit me with this verse!
It was as if He said, “Carol, this is your medicine, a merry, thankful heart!” And everything changed. Some people call this MINDSET. And it is everything.
So, this year, let this be a new year with a new mindset! Let this be the year you don’t ignore the back or neck pain nagging at you. Let it be the year to put into practice some self-care to relieve that pain, get stronger, decrease the stress and anxiety and really sleep. Let it be the year of good, healthy, whole -food nutrition so you can lose those extra pounds holding you back.
I know what it’s like to feel that way. I was in your shoes at one point, even though I’m a Physical Therapist! So here we are at the beginning of a brand-new year. Where should you start? I suggest two simple things. First, start working on that mindset with writing down three things you are thankful for everyday and asking God to fill you with His joy as you read the Bible, even a few verses every day. It will change your life.

Second, download my free guide: “The Quick Start Guide to Relieving Back Pain” here:
Its tough to do anything when you’re in pain, including take care of the kids and yourself, so make this a priority now. Pain is the body’s “check engine” light! It is trying to tell you something is not right. If you listen and change things, it will improve. The longer this is put off, the harder it is to get back to being pain free.

Meet Carol Bercaw

Hi! My name is Carol and I’m a married mom to three, now grown kids! I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart Jeff for 38 years and now I’m a new Nana! I’ve been a Physical Therapist for over 30 years and a Certified Health Coach. I have been in your shoes with neck and back pain myself and have overcome it! This makes me uniquely qualified to help you! My passion is to help working moms  naturally  feel their best, live pain free and find vibrant health so they can carry out their dreams!
Life was going at top speed as I tried to do it all and do it well! I was homeschooling 3 children, doing all household chores, cooking healthy from scratch and working part time! I had “plates spinning” all over the place. But I was stressed and exhausted, living on caffeine and sugary Star Bucks lattes just to get through the day. I was even yawning in my patients faces in the afternoon!
Then things went from bad to worse. Out of the blue I had neck and jaw pain (TMJ) that rocked my world. I really began to struggle.Have you every felt that way?  I felt like I was letting my family down. I felt as if I wasn’t being a good enough mother and wife or a good enough PT at work! I was already spread thin and now with pain I literally couldn’t exercise or sleep and I honestly felt awful!
     Then two important things happened.
I got some additional help with my neck and jaw pain and it finally went away. (You know even physical therapists need therapists!) Next, my good friend Cathy told me about a natural source of energy and I was able to ditch the coffee and caffeine! I started sleeping better and, oh boy, I had more energy to do my work, as well as be with my kids and not be a grump every day!
Today I am still just as busy working and being a fun-loving Nana to little Olivia, although I still have trials I face! I have found natural ways to bring down my stress and fatigue and I can live the life I feel called to live, serving you, as a Certified National Health Coach and Physical Therapist (in the state of Florida). There are many experts in this field, however, they typically do not have the personal experience I can bring to the table, both as a therapist, health coach and mom. I am here for you! If you are ready to be free of the pain, fatigue and stress, I look forward to helping you live the life you want so you can thrive!
